Meet Alan McNeill
Solicitor & Mediator
Alan has been practicing law for more than 15 years and whilst he is versed in many areas of law, he focusses mainly on Family Law (Children’s matters, Property and Financial matters) Wills and Estates (Simple & Complex Wills, Grants of Probate, Letters of Administration Powers of Attorney, Enduring Guardianship, and Estate Administration), as well as Family Mediation (FDRP, Parenting Agreements, Financial Agreements).
Alan's approach to delivering legal and mediation services to his client's focusses on helping people resolve their legal problems as sensibly and cost effectively as possible. Alan knows that no two families are the same and neither are their legal issues. Alan is known by all his clients for treating them like "they are the only ones" and putting in the effort necessary to actually resolve their issues.
Alan has both Bachelor and Master degrees in law as well as a Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution. Alan has formal training and qualifications in mediation and negotiation, specialising in family dispute resolution, and is an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) with the Australian Attorney General’s office, which means in a family mediation, if the mediation is not successful for whatever reason, Alan can issue a s60I certificate to allow an application to be made to a family law court. Alan also has many I.T. related qualifications and accreditations earned working previously in information technology sectors.
Alan is a member of the Law Society of New South Wales, a Graduate Fellow of the College of Law, a member of the Family Law Council of Australia, and a member of the NSW Legal Aid Family Law Panel. Alan is also admitted to practice law as a Barrister and Solicitor in all Australian jurisdictions, including the High Court of Australia.
